Boys split pair of Division I games
Central York's defense has given opponents fits all season and the Panthers did the same to our boys Friday night in a 53-41 Division I victory. Still, despite a third league loss, Dallastown has plenty to play for the rest of the way, as one of the top 12 teams in District 3 6A.
A trio of Wildcats posted double figures and the boys' team went on to a hard fought 45-40 win at Red Lion in the opener of Wednesday's boys-girls doubleheader. Michael Dickson led the way with 15, while Kobe Green (11 points) and Jadon Green (10) combined to score all 19 of Dallstown's first quarter points.

After falling on tough times last week, the Wildcat boys got rolling in Tuesday's 62-48 win at South Western. There remains plenty to play for as the boys are trying to reach the District 3 6A tournament. Leading throughout most of their game against Red Lion Tuesday night, the host Wildcats found themselves in a gut-check moment. The Lions got on a roll and took the lead behind a couple of dunks. Fortunately, Dallastown got the momentum back and behind a big fourth quarter rallied for a 57-50 victory.
The Wildcats drooped Friday night's game, 72-40 to Central York, then on Saturday lost to Central Dauphin 63-40. The boys regular season ended with a 66-58 win past Shippensburg on Feb. 3.

Coach Rex's 300th win highlights week
Saturday's girls team win past Susquehannock as when the Wildcats defeated the Warriors 46-26, giving coach Jay Rexroth his 300th career victory. Although the coach would likely downplay the accomplishment, his 300-204 record speaks volumes about what he has meant to Dallastown girls and boys basketball.
Coach Rex's moment helped the team make a quick recovery from Friday night's disappointing 49-47 loss to Central York. The Wildcats trailed the Panthers by 10 heading into the final quarter before coming back to within two points. Aniya Matthews led the way with 13 points.
Red Lion has always been the Wildcats nemesis, and the rivalry is renewed this season with the two teams battling for Division I supremacy. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, the Lions showed they are ready, holding the Wildcats offense in check to defeat our ladies, 46-32. First place Red Lion jumped out to an 8-2 lead after one and led 19-6 at halftime, handing Dallstown its first league loss of the season.

Girls stun Red Lion, top New Oxford, lose to Central
While the Wildcats girls are in the midst of another fine season, few teams have been as hot as Red Lion, which entered Tuesday night with only two losses. Aniya Matthews and Bria Beverly were named co-players of the game by 1350 WOYK, which broadcast the game

Wednesday's semifinal was more of the same as despite trailing by six at the intermission, Dallastown roared back, allowing only seven points in the second half and notched a comeback win past rival Red Lion, 35-30.
That victory sends the Wildcats back to the championship game.
